The Animal Lab Tech I role is a critical position in the Comparative Medicine department at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care to laboratory animals, ensuring their health and well-being in a safe and controlled environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the daily care and maintenance of laboratory animals, including feeding, watering, and cleaning of enclosures.
- Monitor and record environmental data, including temperature, humidity, and photoperiods, to ensure optimal animal health.
- Follow established protocols for providing unique diets and medicated water to animals, as well as operating equipment such as cage-washers and autoclaves.
- Provide care for animals with special needs, including those that are immuno-compromised or biohazardous.
- Assist in the receipt and inspection of delivered animals, as well as assist with animal restraint and treatments under the supervision of clinical staff.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; 1 year of experience preferred.
- Assistant Laboratory Animal Tech (ALAT) certification preferred.
