Neuro-Spine Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Neuro-Spine Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced neurosurgery environment.
About the Role:- Evaluate and diagnose patients with acute, critical, and chronic illnesses and diseases in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Conduct physical examinations, obtain medical histories, and assess and determine differential diagnoses.
- Prescribe medication, therapy, and treatments accordingly, and consult with physicians as needed.
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies in the field of clinical specialty.
- Adjust patient care plans by reviewing and monitoring treatments and therapy plans.
- Counsel, instruct, and educate patients on physical and mental health, including diet, preventive health measures, health behaviors, self-care skills, disease, treatment options, and normal growth and development.
- Provide care coordination, including managing ancillary services, pre-operative plans, discharge planning, provider referrals, and medical devices.
- Physician Assistant license issued by the state in which the caregiver practices.
- Physician Assistant (PA-C) certification issued by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the caregiver practices, and Nurse Practitioner (ANCC) certification issued by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), or Nurse Practitioner (AANP) certification issued by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
- Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration issued by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Registration.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
