About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Patient Care Secretary to join our team at VITAS Healthcare. As a key member of our team, you will provide administrative support to our Team Manager and play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our patient care services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Screen telephone calls for the Team Manager and facilitate communication between patients/families and other team members.
  • Take and maintain daily schedules for all team members, ensuring seamless coordination and collaboration.
  • Attend weekly team meetings, prepare agendas, and follow through on assignments given by the Team Manager.
  • Establish, maintain, and close patient charts in an orderly fashion, including mailing and follow-up on required documentation.
  • Provide backup documentation to the Billing Department and maintain accurate records of D.M.E. orders and pickups.
  • Enter patient care and volunteer data into Vx and event tracking systems, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Communicate with staff and outside agencies as directed by the Team Manager, maintaining a high level of professionalism and discretion.
Requirements
  • Three years prior work experience preferred.
  • Good typing skills and computer literacy.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
  • Excellent communication and telephone skills.
