Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Emergency Department Technician II/Paramedic to join our team at Alleghany Health. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong foundation in emergency medical services and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide emergency care to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and Physician.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with standards of care and practice for the Emergency Department setting.
  • Perform a range of technical tasks, including starting peripheral IVs, inserting and maintaining peripheral IV locks, and applying sterile dressings to wounds.
  • Initiate and monitor oxygen therapy, apply pulse oximeters and transcutaneous CO2 monitors, and perform phlebotomy and capillary blood sugar analysis.
  • Recognize and respond to cardiac arrhythmias, provide control of bleeding, and apply spinal immobilization and splints as needed.
  • Deliver safe, accurate, and timely patient care that conforms to Alleghany Health standards and departmental goals.
Requirements
  • Advanced EMT Certificate or Paramedic certificate.
  • Three years Emergency Services experience preferred.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required.
  • NC-OEMS certification as EMT-I or EMT-P mandatory.
