The Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine is actively seeking qualified medical professionals (DO or MD) for a faculty role in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM). Candidates must possess a valid U.S. medical license and Board certification or eligibility in NMM/OMM or a related specialty with '+OMT'. While prior teaching experience is advantageous, it is not a prerequisite. Comprehensive faculty development opportunities will be available.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to collaborative education, aiming to nurture the next generation of empathetic and skilled osteopathic physicians within an integrated curriculum framework. This role emphasizes practical applications in clinical settings and a dedication to serving underserved populations. Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering engaging lectures and laboratory sessions in both electronic and in-person formats.
- Conducting skills training within the OMM laboratory.
- Facilitating small group discussions, medical simulations, and clinical experiences as appropriate.
- Contributing to the development of examination materials and ensuring quality improvement.
- Preparing students for practical assessments and evaluations.
- Assisting in the enhancement of curriculum quality and effectiveness.
- Actively participating in scholarly research and academic activities.
- Engaging in professional development and continuing medical education related to responsibilities.
- Participating in the selection process for osteopathic medicine candidates.
- Serving on various college committees as assigned.
- Communicating effectively through verbal, electronic, and written means.
- Addressing conflicts constructively among team members.
- Fostering an environment of creativity, collaboration, inquiry, and diversity.
- Adhering to policies and practices that reflect the mission and vision of the College.
- Undertaking additional duties as assigned by the Chair of OMM.
