Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team at the Detroit Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide respiratory therapy services to patients with cardiopulmonary disorders.

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of a physician, you will perform diagnostic tests, administer therapeutic procedures, and provide patient education to promote optimal cardiopulmonary care. Your expertise will be essential in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans to improve patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct patient assessments to identify cardiopulmonary abnormalities and develop treatment plans to address these issues.
  • Administer respiratory therapy treatments, including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and mechanical ventilation.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Provide education to patients and families on cardiopulmonary health and disease management.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Care program.
  • Registration (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • BCLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
  • Licensure to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in the State of Michigan.
