Job Summary

Christiana Care Health System is seeking a skilled Emergency Care Tech to join our team. As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to patients with a variety of injuries or medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform hygiene and comfort measures for patients under the supervision of a professional nurse.
  • Acquire vital signs and perform EKGs as required.
  • Respond to patient crisis situations and initiate interventions within the scope of responsibilities.
  • Perform venipuncture and finger sticks on patients, following standard laboratory safety policies.
  • Review orders for patient testing and send lab specimens using the PowerChart system.

Requirements:
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Previous work experience or completion of Patient Care Technician and/or Phlebotomist programs

Work Schedule:
  • This position requires 72 hours per pay period
  • 7pm-7am shifts, with options for 8 or 12 hour shifts or combinations of those shifts
  • Weekend and holiday requirements apply
