Substance Abuse Counselor

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Deliver therapeutic counseling services to all assigned clients.
2. Uphold client confidentiality at all times.
3. Keep comprehensive and accurate records for each client under your care.
4. Conduct educational sessions for the entire client population as required.
5. Participate in all necessary staff meetings as directed by the Modality Department Supervisor or Clinical Manager.
6. Maintain LAC or LCAC counseling credentials or other relevant certifications.
7. Be prepared to work across various modalities and shifts, including weekends and evenings as needed.
8. Execute additional responsibilities as assigned by the Modality Supervisor or Clinical Manager.
9. Provide professional services to all clinical clients assigned, adhering to all licensing regulations.
10. Collaborate with the Modality Department Supervisor or Clinical Manager to establish a supervision plan that promotes best practices and professional growth.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must possess LAC or LCAC counseling credentials, or LMSW/LCSW qualifications.
2. KAAP membership is preferred.
3. One to two years of experience in the substance abuse counseling field is preferred.
4. Demonstrated knowledge and competency in the 12 Core Functioning Counseling skills are essential.
5. A valid Kansas Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record is required.
6. Current First Aid and CPR certification is necessary.
7. Annual TB testing or verification of a clear chest X-ray by a medical doctor is required.
ADDITIONAL NOTES: Compliance with the BSRB Code of Ethics is mandatory.
