Job Title: VP of Strategy

A top-notch marketing and advertising agency is seeking a highly skilled VP of Strategy to play a key role in strategic planning and leadership with ever-growing clientele.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in strategic planning, with experience in building and leading a next-generation strategy function that infuses creative with breakthrough insights across multiple clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead branding efforts for the agency.
  • Build and lead a team of strategists to develop and execute innovative marketing campaigns.
  • Work closely with cross-disciplinary leadership teams to develop and execute brand, overall campaign strategy, and global campaign execution.
  • Serve as a key strategy leader for new business and scaling/serving agency clients.
  • Stay engaged in the crafting and selling of ideas, always finding ways to make the work better and more impactful to the target audience.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience in strategic planning for a branding firm, advertising agency, or other creatively minded agency.
  • Demonstrated success in building and leading a scaled strategy, planning, and research capability in an agency environment with evidence of breakthrough innovation across these disciplines.
  • A clear and strong communicator who is able to build trust and confidence among clients and colleagues.
  • Evidence of thought-leadership – breakthrough work, published articles, speeches, white papers, etc.
  • Strategic and holistic view of how diverse insights drive brand platforms and associated downstream, cross-channel campaign executions.
  • Deep understanding of the research methodologies that underpin these insights and demonstrated success in motivating a team to uncover/expand upon them to help motivate outstanding creative.
