About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Laborer II to join our team at ADB Companies Inc. As a key member of our utility construction crew, you will play a vital role in the installation of fiber optic cables for various telecommunication projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform various tasks such as hand digging, setting up traffic control, operating entry-level equipment, placing fiber, loading materials, and more on safety-sensitive utility construction sites.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in utility print and map reading to ensure accurate and efficient project execution.
  • Utilize experience in operating various equipment (such as directional drills, mini, plow, hydro, etc.) to contribute to project success while adhering to safety regulations.
  • Support the setup and shut down of utility construction projects, including traffic control, in diverse conditions.
  • Follow required safety practices while carrying out duties.
  • Immerse yourself in a learning environment, training alongside experienced construction crews to gain expertise in fiber installation, print reading, equipment operations, OSHA requirements, and more.
  • Load and unload materials and equipment from vehicles at construction yards and jobsites.
  • Embrace leadership responsibilities as the right hand to the Foreman, leading by example, ensuring adherence to safety rules and regulations, and providing guidance to others on the jobsite.
  • Engage in on-the-job training to become an experienced operator and eventually progress into a Foreman role.
  • Proactively identify hazards by utilizing the pre-task process, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.
  • Be ready to lend a hand in other position duties when requested.
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of utility construction experience.
  • At least 6 months of heavy equipment operations experience, including Hydro, Drill, Mini, and Plow.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • CDL License (or the ability to obtain one).

Your safety is paramount, and you'll be required to wear common protective safety equipment, including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, and steel-toed boots.
