Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Projects Coordinator to join our team at Freeport-McMoRan Inc. This role will provide technical knowledge, guidance, and advice to Project Management to resolve complex operational issues for all capital projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as technical leader for project systems and provide technical knowledge to resolve problems.
  • Monitor records for Engineering and Construction to help identify potential and existing problems.
  • Determine the root cause of problems and recommend actions to resolve and/or prevent issues from occurring.
  • Lead project teams working on identified Project Management systems, including internal and external team members.
  • Serve as technical leader on complex planning and collaborate with Planners and others involved in project scheduling.
  • Stay up-to-date with technological improvements in the field of knowledge and their impact on capital projects.
  • Conduct regular training for staff on technical knowledge and ensure employees remain current with technological advances.
  • Generate ad hoc reports and analysis for site management.
  • Represent the site on company-sponsored steering teams.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field, or High School diploma or GED with four (4) years of experience in mining industry or manufacturing environment, including project systems experience.
  • Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English.
  • Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards.
  • Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment.
  • Work is performed in a mine or manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes, or airborne particles.
