Job Summary

ZACHARY SCOTT THEATER CENTER is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Stage Operations Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our production staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and safe operation of all stage equipment and rigging, as well as overseeing the training and management of the stage operations team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Production Logistics: Manage the timely and cost-effective delivery of all stage operations requirements for productions and events.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Supervise the installation, maintenance, and organization of stage equipment and systems.
  • Scenic and Properties Management: Direct the maintenance of scenic and properties elements throughout productions.
  • Inventory and Budget Management: Handle inventory, budgets, and staffing for stage operations.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with the Technical Director on production logistics and ensure a positive and collaborative work environment for the team.
  • Staffing and Payroll: Coordinate staffing for facility rentals and oversee payroll processes.
  • Training and Safety: Lead annual production safety training and enforce safety practices, and maintain a clean and safe workplace.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience, with a minimum of three years of supervisory experience in stage operations.
  • Certifications and Licenses: ETCP Rigging Certification preferred, and a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Skills and Abilities
  • Leadership and Teamwork: Demonstrated planning, organizational, and team-building skills, with the ability to oversee multiple projects and work well with diverse teams.
  • Communication and Problem-Solving: Strong communication and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to design stage lighting and special effects.
  • Independence and Adaptability: Ability to work effectively independently or in a team setting, and reflect the values and mission of ZACHARY SCOTT THEATER CENTER in all work.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Schedule and Physical Demands: Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays, with the ability to perform physical tasks like climbing, lifting up to 70 pounds, and working at heights.
  • Visual and Auditory Demands: Close vision and color perception required, with a moderate to high noise level in the work environment.
Organizational Relationships

Reports to: Director of Production

Supervises: Lead Electrician, Programmer and Lighting Board Operator, Overhire Crew

Supports: Production, Development, Education, Rentals

Collaborates with: Lighting Supervisor, Properties Manager, Technical Director, and other key staff
