Compensation: $22-$24 per hour
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Residential Support Specialist is accountable for the daily performance of their teams. Success will be evaluated based on individual and team outcomes, achievement of targets, and contribution to the overall program and organizational culture.
- Implement trauma-informed practices in daily operations.
- Provide coaching and feedback to enhance the professional development of residential care staff.
- Contribute to the development and management of residential programs.
- Train and support staff to foster a positive work culture.
- Monitor staff training and adherence to best practices.
- Facilitate activities with clients alongside residential staff.
- Conduct orientation and ongoing training for new and existing staff.
- Maintain open communication with leadership regarding client and staff needs.
- Hold regular team meetings to assess performance and client progress.
- Ensure high-quality documentation and accountability among staff.
- Promote a collaborative and trusting environment.
- Exhibit ethics, integrity, and emotional intelligence in all interactions.
- Participate in training to become a trainer in trauma-informed practices.
- Represent the organization positively in all communications.
- Respond effectively to crisis situations with a supportive approach.
- Assist with scheduling and staffing needs.
- Ensure program adherence to maintain engagement.
- Manage safety protocols in accordance with health policies.
- Provide continuous training and guidance to staff.
- Participate in the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) process.
- Model professionalism and teamwork throughout the organization.
- Communicate effectively with all clients and partners.
- Assist in planning departmental events and activities.
- Be available for on-call responsibilities as needed.
- Valid Driver's License and compliance with credentialing standards.
- Bachelor's degree with one year of experience working with children and youth.
- Preferred degree in health and human services or social work.
Emerging Leader Qualifications:
- Meets AP credentialing status; QP status preferred.
- Experience in leadership or management roles.
- Demonstrates potential for growth and development as a leader.
- Exhibits strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
All residential staff must complete Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training and demonstrate appropriate techniques.
