At Ursa Major, we're revolutionizing the aerospace industry with our cutting-edge propulsion systems. As a Systems Engineer, you'll play a critical role in designing and verifying our systems to meet customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with program leads to define, validate, and maintain requirements.
  • Develop system-level qualification plans for Solid Rocket Motors (SRMs).
  • Track requirement verification status throughout product development and qualification.
  • Review test and analysis plans and reports to ensure requirements are met.
  • Create Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA), Process Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (PFMEA), and Age-Sensitive Items Analysis (ASIA) documents for SRM programs.
  • Support system-level risk analysis and mitigation, owning and carrying to closure all system-level risks.
  • Develop Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) models of SRM systems.
  • Communicate with management and customers on requirement compliance at program reviews.
  • Create and manage system engineering tools and processes.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to Systems Engineering associates to advance their proficiency.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Systems, or Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
  • 1-3 years of experience applying aerospace systems engineering processes.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive work environment.
  • Ability to build trust and maintain positive relationships.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with requirements management tools like DOORS or Jama.
  • Experience with MBSE and Cameo.
  • Familiarity with government and DoD contracts and specifications.
  • Secret clearance or ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • SRM or propulsion system design, development, or test experience.
