About the Job

The Pharmacist in this role will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely medication distribution and other pharmaceutical supplies according to established procedures and standards. This will be in support of high-quality patient care at AtlantiCare's Anticoagulation Clinic.

As a Pharmacist, you will interpret, evaluate and verify medication orders, assessing for drug-drug, drug-allergy and drug-disease state interactions. You will provide drug information to clinicians and patients, maintaining accurate and complete records on all patient profiles and controlled drug substances as required by law.

This role will also involve managing pharmaceutical inventories and maintaining emergency drug supplies, automated dispensing machines and general medication security on the nursing units. You will direct and verify the Pharmacy Technician's work, ensuring adherence to established procedures and standards.

Pharmacists in this role will be responsible for maintaining competency and participating in various clinical programs such as Anticoagulation Management, Pharmacokinetic Monitoring, Adverse Drug Event Monitoring, patient care rounding, pharmacotherapy optimization and general medication safety.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree
  • Current New Jersey State license as a Registered Pharmacist required
  • ACLS Preferred, CPR Preferred for Hospital Pharmacist

Work Environment

The Pharmacist will work in a hospital environment, potentially exposed to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury. The ability to stand approximately 60% of the time and occasional reaching is required.

Reporting Relationship

Hospital Pharmacists report to the Director of Pharmacy Operations and provide direction to the Pharmacy Technician. Outpatient Pharmacists report to the Director of Outpatient Pharmacy and Business Development and provide direction to the Pharmacy Technician.
