Position Summary:

The Actuation Product Engineer will play a pivotal role in spearheading technology research and pioneering product development. This position is responsible for achieving strategic design and development objectives in electromechanical actuation, aimed at expanding current operations and seizing future business prospects. The role will report directly to Engineering Management.

Key Responsibilities:

In addition to the responsibilities outlined below, other tasks may be assigned as necessary.

  • Lead the design, development, analysis, testing, and implementation of cutting-edge electromechanical actuation technologies.
  • Collaborate with Aerospace and Defense clients to identify their requirements and develop integrated electromechanical actuation systems that set Linear Motion apart from competitors.
  • Enhance the use of analytical tools and testing methodologies within the organization.
  • Design, execute, and evaluate laboratory tests for new products.
  • Prepare and present technical proposals, seminars, and papers as a recognized expert in electromechanical actuation, ball screws, and motion systems.
  • Travel as required for project needs.
  • Work alongside design and process teams to explore and implement advanced materials, design enhancements, and manufacturing techniques.
  • Independently lead cross-functional project teams focused on new technology or product innovations.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in solid modeling (Siemens NX), design analysis tools (FEA, etc.), and testing methodologies.
  • Background in structural analysis is preferred.
  • Experience with linear motion, ball/lead screws, and/or gearboxes.
  • Preferred experience in motors, drives, and controls or related fields.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Self-driven team player with a hands-on approach.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Must be a US Person.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in electromechanical actuation design and development.
