About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Research Scientist 2 to join our team at Humana. As a key member of our Clinical Analytics Team, you will play a critical role in identifying opportunities to improve clinical outcomes and lower costs for millions of Medicare Advantage beneficiaries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply mathematical, statistical, epidemiologic, and data science principles to analyze complex data and identify trends, associations, and cause-effect relationships.
  • Collaborate with analytic and business teams to set objectives, approaches, and work plans.
  • Leverage a wide range of analytics methods to transform high volumes of complex data into actionable insights.
  • Work closely with clinicians and clinical informaticists to define clinical concepts and extract clinical information from medical, pharmacy, and lab claims.
  • Communicate complex analytical results to business partners and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Economics, Statistics, Clinical Informatics, Mathematics, Data Science, or related fields.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in applying mathematics, statistics, epidemiologic, or econometric principles to transform complex data into actionable insights.
  • Proficient in manipulating and analyzing data with programming languages such as Python or R.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Healthcare or managed care working experience.
  • Experience working with medical, pharmacy, and lab claims.
  • Experience with big data and data science tools such as PySpark, Spark R, or Spark Scala.
  • Knowledge of clinical concepts related to various chronic conditions and disease states.
