Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Packaging Manager to oversee the Packaging Department in our 24/7 manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the packaging process, while also driving quality, productivity, and cost performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a strategy that links packaging operations to the company's strategic plan.
  • Coach and develop a team of leaders to support a direct group of hourly co-workers.
  • Ensure the correct management practices, metrics reviews, escalation procedures, and resources required to support daily operations and long-term improvement plans.
  • Identify and execute process improvements related to safety, line stoppages, customer service levels, staffing, fill rates, inventory levels, capacity planning and utilization, and packaging accuracy.
  • Conduct regular departmental meetings and participate in brewery staff, shift, and safety meetings.
  • Work with supporting functions such as Safety, Quality, Maintenance, and Brewing to resolve production-related issues.
  • Manage and achieve the department's annual budget, identifying and implementing cost-improvement opportunities through material suppliers, manufacturing, and packaging partners.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing/packaging environment.
  • Extensive practical experience with high-speed bottling/packaging operations in food/beverage industries.
  • An in-depth understanding and track record of delivering operational processes that drive safety, quality, cost, and delivery improvements.
  • Proven success in managing a team, safety records, and operational issues.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion, with proven experience in delivery against critical KPIs.
  • Lean manufacturing experience as it relates to Packaging/Production.
  • Demonstrated project/idea development skills.
  • Solid financial aptitude and experience managing a budget.
  • Ability to work 12-hour days, weekends, and holidays.
