Job Summary

The Chicago Lighthouse is seeking a highly skilled Early Intervention Specialist to join our team. As a Developmental-Vision Therapist, you will provide specialized instruction and services to meet the developmental/educational needs of children with visual impairments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized instructional strategies to support children and families in meeting their unique needs.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of observations, progress, and ongoing instruction.
  • Collaborate with early intervention teams and attend individualized family plan meetings to ensure seamless transitions.
  • Provide necessary documentation and support during transitions to next educational settings.
  • Participate in staff meetings, seminars, and conferences to stay current with best practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education with Illinois LBS 1 Certification and Type 10 or emphasis in vision or Teacher of the Visually Impaired.
  • State of Illinois Early Intervention credential with endorsement in blind/visual impairment.
  • Ability to travel within diverse populations and bilingual candidate in Spanish/English preferred.
