Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements and analyses.
- Investigate revenue and tax reporting obligations by state and collaborate with external tax professionals and auditors.
- Conduct in-depth accounting research to ensure correct accounting practices for complex issues in line with US GAAP.
- Ensure adherence to generally accepted accounting principles and internal policies.
- Support the Accounting Manager and Executive Team in developing a comprehensive policy and procedure manual for the organization.
- Manage daily general ledger accounting and reporting tasks.
- Facilitate the month-end closing and consolidation process, including preparing and entering month-end journal entries, account reconciliations, and reviewing financial reporting outputs.
- Prepare timely monthly reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts.
- Oversee and evaluate inventory balances, including calculating monthly adjustments and write-down amounts.
- Assist in the timely filing of Sales and Use Tax and other relevant taxes with appropriate governmental bodies.
- Collaborate with the HR department on the monthly payroll process and payroll tax issues.
- Work alongside Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable clerks.
- Support annual audits and tax filings.
- Adapt to a high-growth environment, excelling in both individual contributor roles and cross-functional team leadership as required.
- Encourage a culture of continuous improvement and operational innovation while regularly engaging with senior management on accounting matters.
- Understand business objectives and recommend enhancements to support scalability in team organization and processes.
- Mentor finance and accounting staff to help them develop their careers and reach their full potential.
- Assist and train team members by reviewing complex transactions.
- Participate in special projects and initiatives as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Senior Accountant capacity.
- Experience in a public accounting firm is advantageous.
- Willingness to be onsite a minimum of three times per week.
- Exceptional analytical, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
