On Unit 2E, specializing in Cardiac and Stroke care, our nursing professionals provide comprehensive treatment for patients facing intricate medical conditions such as stroke, heart failure, and post-surgical recovery from cardiac and orthopedic procedures. This 40-bed facility offers distinctive opportunities to care for individuals with specialized requirements, including those needing tracheostomies, peritoneal dialysis, and mechanical circulatory support.
Rehabilitation Focus
Our approach to cardiac and stroke rehabilitation encompasses intensive physical, occupational, and speech therapies, alongside emotional and psychological support, aimed at helping patients achieve their highest potential in mobility and cognitive function. As a rehabilitation nurse on 2 East, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create personalized care plans, fostering a supportive environment that encourages patients through their transformative lifestyle adjustments.
Key Responsibilities
The rehabilitation clinical nurse plays a vital role within the interdisciplinary team, delivering patient-focused rehabilitation nursing services to individuals with disabilities and chronic illnesses, assisting them in achieving and sustaining optimal functionality. This role involves helping patients adjust to new lifestyles while creating a therapeutic atmosphere conducive to the growth of both clients and their families. The rehabilitation clinical nurse formulates and executes treatment plans grounded in scientific nursing principles related to self-care, promoting physical, psychological, and spiritual well-being. Qualifications
- ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited nursing institution is required. If holding an associate degree, enrollment in a BSN program within six months of hire is necessary, with completion within three years.
- Previous clinical nursing experience is preferred.
- Active RN License and Basic Life Support certification for healthcare providers are mandatory.
