Job Summary

Kennedy Valve, a member of the McWane family of companies, is seeking a professional and self-motivated individual to fill the role of 2nd Shift Finishing Supervisor. This position reports to the Value Stream Manager and is responsible for leading a team of up to 20 hourly employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the VSM and area supervisors to provide support to hourly employees, ensuring they have the necessary tools and training to perform their jobs safely.
  • Collect and record daily production information, identifying opportunities for improvement based on the data.
  • Maintain payroll system for assigned employees, including submitting vacation and approving hours worked on a weekly basis.
  • Assure all Safety and Environmental training is up to date, promoting a people-first environment where safety is paramount.
  • Perform monthly safety inspections, focusing on improvements and ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Direct workforce on a day-to-day basis, making changes as needed to meet the goal of 100% on-time delivery.
  • Promote an environment of accountability and trust, fostering open communication and collaboration among team members.
  • Review inventory, including weekly Kanban counts, and identify areas needing support through daily interactions and walk-throughs on the production floor.
  • Qualifications:
    • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
    • Proficient user knowledge of MS Office programs, especially Excel.
    • Required traits:
      • Attention to detail through ambitious goal setting and productive project management.
      • Firm foundation of trust through excellent verbal and written communication.
      • Projects a consistent, reliable presence that inspires calm and confidence in team members.

Physical Requirements

Standing for long periods of time, walking throughout the facility, ability to lift 50lbs as required. Work Environment: Exposed to elements, such as cold, heat, noise, dust, odors, fumes, etc. Work time is spent on the manufacturing floor and in a managerial office.
