Position Overview:

The Healthcare Support Specialist plays a vital role in providing essential administrative and clinical assistance within the Ambulatory Services department. Under the guidance of the Practice Manager, this position is responsible for delivering direct patient care and administrative support to ensure smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic vital sign assessments for both adult and pediatric patients, including height, weight, blood pressure, visual acuity, and color vision.
  • Accurately draw blood and document patient information in the electronic health record system.
  • Engage with patients, medical staff, and other departmental personnel to facilitate effective communication and care delivery.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Completion of an accredited medical assistant program is mandatory.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification for healthcare providers from the American Heart Association is essential.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is preferred.

The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills, demonstrating effective verbal and written communication, adaptability, organization, problem-solving abilities, and compassion. A non-judgmental attitude and self-control are also essential attributes for success in this role.
