About This Position

The Regional Education Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating education programs and activities for adults, families, children, and groups in the region. This includes interpretation, community science, and events. The successful candidate will have a strong background in environmental education and experience in program management, staff supervision, and community engagement. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including staff, volunteers, and community members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement education programs and activities that meet the needs of the region and align with Mass Audubon's strategic goals.
  • Supervise and support a team of education staff, including coordinators, instructors, and volunteers.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations, schools, and other stakeholders to advance Mass Audubon's education mission.
  • Develop and manage budgets, grants, and other resources to support education programs and activities.
  • Collaborate with the Statewide Education Leadership team to develop and implement statewide education initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education, environmental education, or a related field.
  • At least 6 years of experience in education program management, staff supervision, and community engagement.
  • Strong background in environmental education, including knowledge of state and national education frameworks, best practices, and trends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and partnership-building.
