Nutrition Educator Opportunity

Common Threads is seeking a dynamic and passionate Nutrition Educator to join our team in El Paso, TX. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in enhancing community health through nutrition education and cooking skills training.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver engaging and interactive nutrition education programs to children and adults in schools and community settings.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that promote healthy eating habits and cooking skills.
  • Collaborate with Common Threads staff and partner organizations to ensure program success.
  • Administer pre- and post-surveys to program participants and manage program documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with Common Threads staff, partner organizations, and program participants.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in nutrition, dietetics, or a related field.
  • Experience working with patients in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience teaching and working with culturally diverse audiences.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Registered Dietitian in Texas with valid license.
  • Experience as a culinary and/or nutrition teacher.
  • Culinary school and/or food industry experience.
  • Experience working to improve food access and nutrition security.
Compensation and Benefits:

This is a part-time variable hour position with a competitive hourly rate. Benefits include paid sick time, professional development opportunities, and access to resources within our Employee Assistance Program.
