The Behavioral Health Consultant plays a vital role in our integrated care team, providing evidence-based assessments and interventions to support patients' functional restoration and overall well-being. This position requires adaptability, flexibility, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Apply biopsychosocial models of human behavior and development to provide effective interventions.
- Utilize first-line interventions in a time-limited setting to address a broad spectrum of physical and mental health concerns.
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with medical and allied health providers.
- Provide patient and family education to promote compliance with medical and behavioral treatment plans.
- Teach classes and groups related to integrated behavioral health, such as chronic pain management and stress reduction.
- Effectively communicate with medical providers and utilize electronic health records to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Provide consultation and training to primary care team members on mental health, chemical dependency, and behavioral medicine.
- Assess and manage suicidal and homicidal risk, as well as concerns for child or elder abuse and neglect.
- Perform clinical, compliance, and administrative duties related to Medicare billing.
- Doctorate in Psychology or related behavioral health field.
- Two years of post-doctoral practice experience with specific primary care behavioral health/collaborative care training.
- Possession of a Psychologist License (Colorado) and National Provider Identifier.
- Taxonomy Code required at time of hire.
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced Primary Care setting.
- Knowledge of Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine patient populations.
- Outstanding communication and organizational skills.
- Bi-or multi-lingual.
