Position Overview:
The Numerical Control Programmer will be integrated into Northrop Grumman's Manufacturing division, fostering a collaborative and proactive teamwork atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and write programs for numerically controlled machinery based on engineering specifications and drawings.
- Analyze engineering schematics to define part configurations and determine the sequence of machine operations.
- Create machining programs for parts, tools, or sheet metal on numerically controlled equipment.
- Make informed cutter selections for each component, considering factors such as speeds, cutter types, feeds, and control system limitations.
- Select program routines for optimal computer calculations of dimensional and machining requirements for each part.
- Test and modify existing programs to accommodate engineering changes or enhancements.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with no experience or 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- Proficiency in Catia Software, NX 20, Mastercam, Coordinate Measuring Machines, GD&T tolerancing practices, Manufacturing, and Tool Design/Fabrication methodologies.
- Ability to obtain and maintain DOD Secret Clearance and Special Program Access.
- Flexibility to work 1st shift (5 AM - 3:30 PM) or 2nd shift (4:12 PM - 2:42 AM) and any work schedule.
- Capability to perform moderately strenuous physical tasks, including bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting up to 35 pounds, and working overhead.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's in Science (STEM) Degree with no experience.
- Experience with PC-DMIS NC - Metrology software for CNC machines.
- Active DOD Secret Clearance and Special Program Access.
Salary Range: $65,600 - $98,400
This salary range serves as a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers various factors when determining base salary offers, including the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
