Pharmacist - Specialty OP Pharmacy- PD Variable

The University of California, Irvine is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacist to join our team in the OP Specialty Pharmacy. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the safe and effective use of medications.
Key Responsibilities- Reads, interprets, and verifies physician orders to ensure accuracy and appropriateness.
- Assesses medication orders and prepares and distributes drugs to patients, ensuring optimal formulary compliance.
- Provides direction to technicians regarding daily work-flow and operations, overseeing stock control and ensuring no outage of critically needed medications.
- Collaborates with other team members to provide correct drug and dosage form of delivery for age group and collaborates with nursing to evaluate the effectiveness of therapy considering the age of patient.
- Participates as an active member of the Code Blue Team and actively participates as a preceptor to pharmacy students, residents, and technician students.
- Accurately compounds and dispenses extemporaneous preparations and controlled substances, implementing appropriate age-related pharmaceutical therapy and performing and documenting drug therapy interventions.
- Possession of the legal requirements for the practice of pharmacy as determined by the CA Board of Pharmacy.
- One year of clinical experience as a licensed pharmacist.
- Current BLS or ACLS upon hire.
- Pharm.D. highly desirable.
