Pharmacist - Specialty OP Pharmacy- PD Variable

The University of California, Irvine is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacist to join our team in the Specialty OP Pharmacy. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the safe and effective use of medications.
Key Responsibilities- Medication Management: Read, interpret, and verify physician orders, assessing medication orders for appropriateness and preparing and distributing drugs to patients.
- Leadership and Teamwork: Provide direction to technicians, oversee stock control, and ensure timely delivery of medications. Participate in Code Blue Team and collaborate with nursing staff to evaluate therapy effectiveness.
- Education and Training: Actively participate as a preceptor to pharmacy students, residents, and technician students, and actively participate in the training of new staff.
- Compounding and Dispensing: Accurately compound and dispense extemporaneous preparations and controlled substances, and prepare parenteral products using aseptic techniques.
- Education and Experience: Possession of the legal requirements for the practice of pharmacy as determined by the CA Board of Pharmacy, one year of clinical experience as a licensed pharmacist, and current BLS or ACLS upon hire.
- Preferred Qualifications: Pharm.D. highly desirable.
