Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) to join our team at Amergis. As a School LPN/LVN, you will play a vital role in identifying and treating health disorders among students in the school setting. Your expertise will be essential in providing instruction for students' general wellbeing and disease prevention.

Responsibilities

* Provide first aid care and medically prescribed services to students
* Maintain security of school health supplies and medication
* Provide follow-up evaluations on students as required
* Correspond with parents on health needs of children
* Record immunizations, health findings, and other relevant health data
* Identify abnormal growth and development, symptoms of disease, and discuss with parents
* Develop and maintain health records on students
* Develop positive working relationships with students, parents, and school staff
* Support student medical needs during transport as applicable

Requirements

* Current LPN/LVN license for the state in which the nurse practices
* Current PPD or Chest X-Ray
* One year prior professional nursing experience in a school setting preferred
* Pediatric experience preferred
* Current BLS card
* Considerable knowledge of medical disorders and treatment
* Considerable knowledge of child growth and development
* Some knowledge of public health problems and procedures for treatment in coordination with other health and social service agencies
* Some knowledge of Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations affecting the delivery of school health services
* Understands the school organization and the community served
* Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required
* Computer proficiency preferred
* Must be at least 18 years of age
