Job Summary

Duke Health is seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Duke University Hospital. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care to our neonatal and pediatric patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer oxygen, aerosolized medication, and other respiratory therapies as prescribed by physicians.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic clinical procedures, including pulmonary function studies and cardiopulmonary procedures.
  • Assure correct set-up, safety, and function of all equipment and supplies necessary for patient care.
  • Provide education to patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare team members.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement plans of care for patients.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A completion of an AMA-approved respiratory care program (Associates Degree or the equivalent).
  • North Carolina State Licensure or Provisional License, and Certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and any other applicable certifications.
Work Environment

This role will be based at Duke University Hospital, a Level IV Intensive Care Nursery, and will involve working with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care.
