Job Description

As a Medical Specialist II, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Your primary responsibility will be to perform medical tasks and duties under the supervision of a nurse, ensuring the health and well-being of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Communicate regularly with the nurse and management team to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Make medical appointments and ensure timely follow-ups.
  • Arrange transportation for clients to medical appointments.
  • Monitor and manage medications, including ordering and dispensing.
  • Complete medical summary records and update appointment records.
  • Participate in meetings with the Residential Nurse, Management, and other team members to discuss client care and treatment plans.
  • Ensure the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date medical records.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of experience in providing direct services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Current AMAP certification.
  • Valid New York State driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Direct care experience with individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities.
  • Current SCIP-R, CPR/SFA, and AMAP certification.
