Comprehensive Eye Care Specialist for Veterans
6 days ago
At MRG Exams, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional medical examinations to United States Veterans. As a part-time Comprehensive Eye Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in this mission by performing comprehensive eye exams on veterans as part of the VA's SHA process.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing medical health records through our secure Web Portal and conducting thorough eye exams on each veteran. You will then complete forms through the portal, providing assessments that will aid in the determination process.
Please note that this is not a treating role, and all determinations are made by the VA. Your position will involve reviewing and assessing 3-6 veterans per day on average. We offer flexible scheduling, with this role being brought on as a 1099 Independent Contractor, requiring only one day of work per week.
To excel in this position, you should possess excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as the ability to analyze data from medical records and exam findings to complete forms and form medical opinions. All completed forms must be submitted within 24 hours after an exam.
We value professionals who are interested in serving veterans in their community and have a strong interest in performing comprehensive eye exam assessments versus traditional patient care and treatment.
Key requirements for this role include:
- Holding a current license as an Optometrist in the state where exams are performed
- Able to perform Visual Field Testing (VFT)
- Meets the credentialing requirements set forth by the VA
In terms of compensation, we estimate a salary of around $80-$120 per hour, based on industry standards and the level of expertise required for this role. This figure may vary depending on your location and experience.
We are committed to supporting our team members in their careers and strive to create a positive work environment. If you are passionate about delivering high-quality medical services and working with veterans, we encourage you to apply for this opportunity.
