Opportunity for a Part-Time Optometrist in Bangor, ME

Orono, Maine, United States MRG Exams Full time

We are seeking an experienced and licensed Optometrist to join our team as a part-time independent contractor. This role involves performing comprehensive eye exams on United States Veterans through the VA's SHA process.

The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing medical health records, conducting thorough eye exams, and completing forms through a secure Web Portal. Importantly, this is not a treating role, but rather an assessment position where determinations are made by the VA.

This opportunity offers a unique chance to make a difference in the lives of Veterans while working independently. As a part-time Optometrist, you will assess 3-6 Veterans per day on average, contributing to their well-being and quality of life.

To excel in this role, you should possess excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to analyze data from medical records and exam findings. You must also be able to submit completed forms within 24 hours after each exam.

We require our candidates to hold a current license as an Optometrist in the state where exams are performed, have experience with Visual Field Testing (VFT), and meet the credentialing requirements set forth by the VA.

In terms of compensation, we estimate that this part-time position could potentially generate $**50-$75 per hour**, depending on factors such as location and level of experience. Keep in mind that this is an estimate and may vary based on individual circumstances.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an Optometrist looking to work independently and make a positive impact in the community. If you possess the necessary qualifications and skills, please consider applying for this unique role.
