This role presents a unique opportunity to nurture and develop new business for Simmons Pet Food with various U.S. based customers.
Essential Position Responsibilities- Manage a portfolio of national accounts and achieve set sales targets.
- Develop new and existing accounts, including new products, packaging requirements, pricing programs, and cost analysis.
- Project volume and profitability for each account to inform budget and capacity planning processes.
- Service and formulate business growth with existing customers.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with internal and external customers.
- Act as a liaison between Simmons Pet Food and customers, understanding the relationship dynamics between the two.
- Effectively leverage company teams to ensure customer satisfaction and best results.
- Ensure teams function efficiently and effectively while adhering to the company Sales & Operations Planning Process.
- Attend critical meetings and provide business reviews and sales solutions.
- Manage up when necessary to get answers and share information for well-rounded solutions.
- Maintain files and reports on customer-specific data and pertinent sales information.
- Problem and solution management: listen to the customer and take immediate action to provide solutions.
- Know where to find the right answers by drawing on internal Simmons Pet Food experts as required.
- Ensure timely and successful delivery of solutions according to customer needs and objectives.
- Develop and demonstrate in-depth knowledge of company production and R&D capabilities, as well as applicable quality processes.
- Participate as a member of the Team, contributing to the development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies.
- Coordinate work to ensure best practices with all team members and attend appropriate team meetings.
- Identify areas lacking cohesiveness and work with the team to resolve issues.
- Familiar with Simmons established operating systems and understand the responsibility to maintain familiarity with these systems.
- Perform other duties as necessary in support of business objectives, guiding the activities of the person in this position.
- 1-5 years experience in various sales support categories, including store brand sales, mass pet food specialty, food service, or feed ingredients.
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams, strong planning and analysis skills, and excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
- Industry experience: preference for a food organization.
- Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field or 4 years related work experience.
