Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Equipment Operator III to join our team in the Wastewater Division of the City of Norfolk's Department of Utilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive and operate various types of equipment to and from job sites, ensuring safe and efficient transportation of crew and equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance on vehicles, including inspections, repairs, and replacements of parts as needed.
  • Collaborate with crew members to ensure smooth operation of equipment and completion of tasks.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, reporting any incidents or near-misses to supervisors.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in heavy equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
