About the Role

Mayo Clinic is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Specialist Pharmacist to join our team in the ICU. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide expert-level consultation, guidance, and direction for appropriate ICU-affiliated medication use.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with critical care physicians and surgeons to provide complete care to patients through inpatient ICU rounding service and multidisciplinary patient care planning meetings.
  • Optimize patient outcomes by providing evidence-based, patient-centered drug therapies and monitoring for drug-related problems and medication cost containment.
  • Provide pharmacokinetic consultations as required and detect, monitor, document, and report adverse drug reactions and medication errors.
  • Communicate ongoing patient information and efficacy and safety of treatment regimens to all care providers.
  • Lead and participate in interdisciplinary hospital committees, protocol development, and education of pharmacists, nursing, and physicians.
Qualifications

We are looking for a highly qualified individual with a Pharmacy program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education and completion of a Post-Year Graduate 2 (PGY2) residency in a specialty practice area. Current, active board certification in the area of specialty is also required.
