Position Overview
As a supervisory general attorney, you will oversee a team of legal professionals specializing in acquisition law and other critical areas within the Office of the General Counsel (OGC), including civilian personnel law, fiscal law, and ethics.
Key Responsibilities
Your role will involve managing and resolving complex legal issues across various OGC practice areas, such as the Freedom of Information Act, environmental law, intellectual property law, and the assessment of non-FAR based agreements.
Conditions of Employment
To qualify for this position, candidates must:
- Be a U.S. Citizen.
- Meet the suitability requirements for federal employment.

Travel Requirements
This position may necessitate travel to various locations, including remote or isolated sites, and requires the ability to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess a minimum of five and a half years of relevant legal experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Acquisition law
- Fiscal law
- Ethics
Evaluation Criteria
Candidates will be assessed based on:
1) Their professional legal experience in civilian personnel and acquisition law.
2) Their supervisory or management capabilities.
3) Their research, analytical, and writing proficiency.
4) Their oral communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in establishing effective relationships with senior military and civilian clients.
Education Requirements
The ideal candidate must have graduated from an American Bar Association accredited law school and be an active member in good standing of the bar of the highest court of a State, U.S. Commonwealth, U.S. territory, or the District of Columbia.
Additional Information
This position is part of the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program and is in the excepted service, which does not confer competitive status. Telework may be authorized at management's discretion, but remote work is not permitted.
