We are seeking an exceptional Applied Scientist to join our Next Gen DevX team at Amazon Web Services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for building AI-based services for Amazon Q Developer, redefining the way developers work.

As an Applied Scientist, you will work closely with software engineers to drive the delivery of end-to-end modeling solutions, leveraging your expertise in machine learning to advise team members on a range of topics.

Our team is passionate about building innovative AI products that are deployed in the IDE, the AWS console, and in web-based tools and services. We explore new technologies, produce original research, and bring cutting-edge innovation to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop AI-based services for Amazon Q Developer
  • Collaborate with software engineers to drive the delivery of end-to-end modeling solutions
  • Advise team members on machine learning topics and provide expertise in AI research
  • Work closely with the team to build innovative AI products and services
Requirements
  • PhD or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Machine Learning, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience building models for business applications
  • Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
  • Experience programming in Java, C++, Python, or related languages
  • Experience in algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, high-performance computing
  • Experience in deep learning, generative AI, and large language models
