The Facilities Supervisor is a key member of the Tulsa Zoo Management, Inc. team, responsible for the coordination and management of Operations staff in the general maintenance and upkeep of buildings, exhibits, structures, grounds, and equipment. This role prioritizes, assigns, and tracks work orders, manages projects, and monitors the work order database and is responsible for maintaining electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and related systems.
Key Responsibilities
This position involves managing and directing the completion of work-orders, projects, and assignments of Operations Technicians. The successful candidate will suggest and implement changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase safety and efficiency of shop, department, and work crew. They will prioritize, manage, and coordinate preventive maintenance and repair work orders for TZMI's exhibits, structures, facilities, grounds, and equipment including MEP and life support systems.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of construction, plumbing, mechanical utilities, and HVAC systems, as well as maintenance and/or construction trades terminology, practices, methods, tools, materials, and equipment of the building trades. They will also have the ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports and correspondence, and speak effectively before groups of customers, employees, and the general public. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and common Internet browsers are also required. Experience with work order systems is preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
This role requires frequent standing, reaching, and gripping, as well as occasional carrying and lifting up to 50 pounds. The successful candidate will also be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, high noise levels, and strong smells. They will work near moving mechanical parts and in a wet or humid environment. The ideal candidate will be able to work weekends and evenings and have a valid driver's license and be insurable on TZMI's insurance carrier.
