Job Summary:

This Welder I role is part of our manufacturing team at The Toro Company, where you will be responsible for welding components used to build our equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and other documents to ensure accurate assembly.
  • Set up fixtures, mount parts, and perform mechanical assembly using hand and air tools.
  • Operate MIG welding equipment to weld machine components, ensuring high-quality results.
  • Inspect and test weldments, making corrections as needed.
  • Use a computer to track inventory, routing, and record transactions.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Appropriate MIG welding experience or completion of a formal welding training program.
  • Pass a required entry-level plate test for production welding.
  • Strong mechanical skills, including experience with hand and air-powered tools.
  • Basic reading, clerical, and math skills.

Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing plant conditions, with variable temperature, humidity, noise, and dirt.
  • Use of personal protective equipment, including a welding hood, gloves, and sleeves, safety glasses, face shields, and hearing protection.
  • Physical hazards, such as powered vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic, sharp objects, moving machinery, electrical arc-welding equipment, and materials handling.
  • Working with hazardous materials, including solvents, oils, grease, and pressurized gases.

Physical Demands:

This role requires frequent walking, twisting, bending, squatting, kneeling, and climbing, as well as occasional sitting and elevated work.
