Overview of Responsibilities

The individual in this role will play a crucial part in the daily operations of the warehouse. Responsibilities include the selection and packaging of customer orders, receiving incoming shipments, and maintaining the facility.

This position necessitates collaboration with freight carriers, warehouse staff, customer service representatives, and internal management teams.

Proficiency and safety in operating various types of forklifts and material handling equipment (MHE) such as Sit Down Forklifts, Stand-Up/Reach Forklifts, and Tugger vehicles are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities for material handling equipment.
  • Conduct safety inspections on all material handling equipment prior to each shift.
  • Assist in organizing and preparing picking aisles, packing, and processing stations, which may include assembling and stocking shipping supplies.
  • Accurately pick products, quantities, and lot numbers from designated locations based on assigned tasks for customer orders.
  • Package outgoing shipments according to established protocols to ensure accuracy and prevent damage during transit.
  • Process orders through the SAP/ShipErp system in accordance with company procedures.
  • Support the unloading and staging of incoming shipments using appropriate material handling equipment.
  • Assist in loading outgoing shipments, which involves operating various material handling equipment.
  • Facilitate the transfer of products between high and low storage locations.
  • Collaborate with warehouse colleagues to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Conduct operations in a manner that prioritizes safety.
  • Adhere to OSHA and other relevant safety standards.
  • Operate material handling equipment with care, ensuring the safety of oneself and others in the vicinity.
  • Continuously seek to enhance processes and service quality for both internal and external customers.
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.

Physical and Mental Requirements

Ability to see, hear, speak, and perform movements requiring the use of wrists, hands, and fingers. Must be capable of viewing a computer screen for extended periods and sitting for long durations. The role may involve lifting up to 50 lbs. and requires occasional kneeling and bending. The working environment is primarily within a warehouse setting.

Cognitive Demands

Ability to learn, think critically, concentrate, and work under pressure, especially during peak times. Attention to detail is crucial, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members to ensure excellent customer service.
