Position Overview:
This role is crucial for maintaining the reliability and functionality of all automation, control systems, and IT equipment throughout the facility. The technician will provide both electrical and mechanical support, collaborating closely with plant personnel to conduct tests, diagnostics, repairs, and enhancements to machinery and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote a culture of safety and participate in incident investigations to identify root causes and preventive measures.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives utilizing the Pactiv Business System.
- Monitor, calibrate, and repair manufacturing equipment and instruments.
- Conduct troubleshooting for PLC, HMI, and motor drive systems.
- Perform electrical installations and modifications as required.
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of automation and control technologies.
- Provide technical assistance to enhance Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE).
- Collaborate with corporate personnel to address IT-related issues.
- Develop and revise operational procedures as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with budgetary constraints and manage monthly expenditures.
- Deliver training to personnel across various levels of the organization.
- Supervise contractors to minimize downtime.
- Maintain engineering documentation and records.
- Uphold cleanliness and safety standards in assigned areas.
- Be available for flexible working hours, including weekends and holidays.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of an apprenticeship or equivalent training is necessary.
- Associates Degree in Maintenance or Industrial Technology is preferred.
- A minimum of ten years of industrial maintenance experience with a focus on automation and controls.
- Working knowledge of Information Technology, including networking and computer systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications and SAP.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to apply mathematical concepts.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Physical capability to lift up to 35 pounds.
