POSITION SUMMARY
Kelvion Products Inc, a prominent global leader in heat exchanger manufacturing, is seeking a dedicated Production Material Planner. This role is pivotal in ensuring that materials are consistently available to meet production demands. The successful candidate will collaborate with various production teams to align on objectives, schedules, and timelines. They will monitor production volumes and customer demand trends while managing the supply and delivery of materials.
OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF ROLE
The primary goal is to guarantee that materials and services are available punctually and meet the specified conditions to support daily operations and long-term strategic objectives.
PRIMARY CUSTOMER FOCUS
This role emphasizes maintaining Kelvion's Standard of Excellence, which encompasses quality, safety, and functionality, ensuring customer satisfaction through the Material Planning Team's efforts.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Determine the timing and quantity of materials and services based on known suppliers and conditions, issuing the necessary purchase orders.
- Oversee material planning and supplier scheduling processes.
- Manage and develop personnel under direct supervision, ensuring adherence to training and evaluation policies.
- Ensure the timely availability of materials and services in alignment with company requirements.
- Establish appropriate material planning and ordering processes (e.g., MRP, reorder points) tailored to each material type, considering critical business factors such as lead times and reliability.
- Facilitate supplier confirmations for orders and address discrepancies with purchasing conditions as needed.
- Coordinate with the Purchasing function to resolve sourcing and purchasing condition issues.
- Provide regular updates on supplier delivery performance in accordance with company metrics.
- Proactively communicate critical supplier issues to the Purchasing function and relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with Purchasing to negotiate optimal terms for material availability.
- Engage with key stakeholders, including Sales, Production, and Engineering, to understand their needs and provide relevant feedback.
- Implement and maintain procedures and reporting systems to ensure effective execution of assigned functions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in material planning and procurement within an international industrial setting, part of a total of at least 5 years of professional experience.
