Early Learning Advancement Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our early care and education initiatives as the Associate Vice President, Early Learning Advancement. This role will be responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight for our early learning programs, including the Shared Services Alliance and the PreK Partnership Hub.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development and implementation of our early care and education strategy, including the design and implementation of the Shared Services Alliance and the PreK Partnership Hub.
- Provide strategic direction and oversight for our early learning programs, including budget management and fundraising efforts.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to create regional early care and education opportunities across Travis and Williamson Counties.
- Represent United Way and its early care and education work internally and externally, including at local and state agency-level meetings.
- Oversee the recruitment, retention, and successful performance of the early care and education teams.
- Support overall coalition alignment efforts with VPs, Impact.
- Provide oversight and accountability for all data and outcomes associated with Pre-K Partnerships, Family Based Childcare, and Shared Services Alliance.
- Establish and maintain processes to update internal United Way teams on a regular cadence (Finance, Marketing & Communications, Resource Development).
- Strategize, envision, plan, co-create, and implement the programming of the Early Learning Advancement Center at Pease Elementary in collaboration with organizational leadership.
- Support community investment grant-making efforts, especially within the early care and education strategy area of focus in collaboration with Impact leadership.
- Support funding, grant management, strategy, vision, and thought partnership for the Vice President, Impact (Education, Early Childhood, Advancement), and associated department.
- Serve as a member of the Impact Leadership Team.
- A Passion for our Greater Austin community and a desire to make a real impact.
- Minimum 5-7 years experience in child care center administration, public school administration, and/or charter school development, program development and implementation, and strategic planning.
- Experience in leading effective meetings with diverse participants and supporting collaborative work.
- Five years of experience implementing and growing SSA hubs and/or PKP programs, or other publicly funded educational programs.
- Robust knowledge of funding mechanisms (public and private) and opportunities for high-quality early care and education.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic work environment.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to develop effective work plans, organize details, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
- An ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced work environment.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, word processing, email, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving skills; ability to operate professionally under a variety of working conditions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple priorities.
- Strong team building skills; ability to work well with staff in all departments; comfortable working with diverse groups.
