**Job Title:** Commercial Roofing Service Superintendent

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Roofing Service Superintendent to join our team at Progressive Roofing. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading multiple service foremen to perform work safely and productively per specifications and to the standards of the company and customer.

**Key Responsibilities:**

• **Provide Leadership:** Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and discipline resulting in efficient and professional roof system installation.
• **Ensure Quality:** Provide consistently high-quality service and results, meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
• **Represent the Company:** Represent Progressive Roofing in a professional manner in all dealings with customers, personnel, and the public.
• **Manage Field Work:** Effectively manage all aspects of service field work to meet company and project goals.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**

• **Supervise Foremen:** Supervise foremen to lead safe and efficient roof system installations.
• **Oversee Field Staff:** Oversee field staff, assisting foremen with crew leadership, and ensuring that all personnel are properly trained and equipped to perform their duties.
• **Conduct Daily Safety Audits:** Conduct or participate in daily safety audits to ensure compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
• **Train Field Staff:** Train field staff in safety, work skills, and efficiency, and provide ongoing feedback to foremen regarding job performance.
• **Resolve Complaints and Grievances:** Resolve complaints and grievances, and assist with discipline when necessary.
• **Discuss Opportunities for Professional Development:** Discuss opportunities for professional development with foremen and other field staff.
• **Conduct Annual Performance Reviews:** Conduct annual performance reviews for foremen and other field staff.
• **Recommend Raises and Promotions:** Recommend raises and promotions for foremen and other field staff based on performance.

**Additional Responsibilities:**

• **Ensure Production and Quality Goals:** Ensure that production and quality goals are met or exceeded, and that all work is completed in a timely and efficient manner.
• **Maintain Understanding of Contract Information:** Maintain an understanding of contract information for jobs, and ensure that all work is completed in accordance with contract specifications.
• **Track Labor Hours and Production:** Track labor hours and production against stated goals, and make adjustments as necessary to ensure that goals are met.
• **Schedule Materials, Equipment, and Deliveries:** Schedule materials, equipment, and deliveries, and ensure that all necessary resources are available to complete jobs.
• **Monitor Material Usage:** Monitor material usage, minimize waste, anticipate shortages, and order materials as needed.
• **Monitor Quality of Installations:** Monitor the quality of installations, and ensure that all work meets or exceeds customer expectations.

**Deliver Excellent Customer Service:**

• **Engage with Customers:** Engage with customers to answer questions and provide explanations, and ensure that all customer concerns are addressed in a timely and professional manner.
• **Schedule Daily or Weekly Contact:** Schedule daily or weekly contact with customers to review progress, and ensure that all customer expectations are met.
• **Discuss Outstanding Issues:** Discuss any outstanding issues with customers and other parties, and ensure that all issues are resolved in a timely and professional manner.
• **Meet with Customers:** Meet with customers to verify satisfaction with work and billing, and deliver warranties as necessary.
• **Respond to Requests for Service:** Respond to requests for service and assistance, and ensure that all customer needs are met in a timely and professional manner.
• **Manage Difficult or Emotional Customers:** Manage difficult or emotional customers, and ensure that all customer interactions are handled in a professional and courteous manner.

**Manage and Coordinate Job Details:**

• **Review Plans and Sites:** Review plans and sites, delegate crews, and do all pre-job planning, including but not limited to assisting safety in creating site-specific safety plans and work plan efficiencies.
• **Ensure Crews Have Information:** Ensure that crews have all necessary information and instructions to complete jobs.
• **Submit Reports and Paperwork:** Submit reports and paperwork, and otherwise coordinate communication between the office and job sites.
• **Investigate Incidents:** Investigate incidents, near misses, accidents, and thefts, and provide relevant documents, photos, and assessments to the office.
• **Deliver Documentation:** Deliver all documentation to the office in a timely manner.
• **Review Final Paperwork:** Review final paperwork to ensure that change orders are reflected and billed.
• **Participate in Final Inspections:** Participate in final inspections, and ensure that all work is completed to the satisfaction of the customer.
• **Prepare Digital Work Orders:** Prepare digital work orders for invoicing and close-out.

**Qualifications:**

• **High School Diploma or GED:** High school diploma or equivalent, plus five (5) years of experience in a commercial roofing environment.
• **Considerable Knowledge:** Considerable knowledge of various commercial roofing systems, materials, and installation methods.
• **Safety Training:** OSHA 30-Hour Card.
• **Good Knowledge:** Good knowledge of state and local building codes, including Uniform Building Code, and electrical and plumbing codes.
• **Experience:** Experience determining roof types and estimating materials, hours, and replacement costs for commercial roofing projects; directing large-scale commercial roofing projects; interpreting roofing plans, specifications, and standards; determining roofing product acceptability and developing warranties; developing and monitoring construction and contract documents.
• **Ability to Read, Analyze, and Interpret:** Ability to read, analyze, and interpret, in English, and comprehend drawings and specifications, documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• **Ability to Write Routine Reports:** Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• **Ability to Add, Subtract, Multiply, and Divide:** Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, and to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
