Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Water Treatment Plant Operator to join our team at the Town of Andover. As a key member of our Water Department, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of our water treatment facility, storage tanks, and pumping stations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain a variety of equipment and apparatus used in the water treatment plant, river water pumping station, and water storage facilities.
  • Collect and analyze water samples to ensure the quality of our drinking water meets established standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on water treatment plant supplies and equipment.
  • Respond to emergency situations and make necessary adjustments to the water treatment process.
  • Ensure compliance with all State and Federal regulations and guidelines.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of water treatment plant operations and related activities.
  • Up to two years of related experience.
  • Full 3T license and a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work independently and respond to operational issues without direct supervision.
Working Conditions

This position requires working in all weather conditions and extremes, as well as exposure to chemicals and other caustic substances. The ability to lift up to 60 pounds and climb ladders and stairs is also required.
