At SSM Health, we're dedicated to providing exceptional patient care and making a positive impact in our communities. As a Medical Assistant in our Family Medicine department, you'll play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with patient examinations and treatments under the supervision of a registered nurse or provider.
  • Interview patients, take vital signs, and record information on patient charts.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and perform basic clerical duties.
  • Order and stock supplies, and maintain a clean and organized environment.
  • Document patient information, including diagnoses, symptoms, and follow-up instructions.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 10 years of work experience may be substituted.
  • No experience required; on-the-job training provided.

Work Environment:

  • Constant standing and walking.
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to communicate with patients and staff.
  • Frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Professional Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • One of the following certifications: Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC), Medical Assistant (RMA), Medical Assistant Certification (MAC), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from a recognized certifying organization.

Work Schedule:

Day shift, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening or weekend hours as needed.
