Job Summary:

The Asset Liability Manager will be responsible for the modeling, analysis, reporting, monitoring, and management of WSFS's interest rate risk position, liquidity stress testing, and capital stress testing. The Asset Liability Manager serves as a key subject matter expert for these areas within WSFS and will partner with lines of business across the enterprise to develop assumptions and methodologies in support of managing interest rate risk, liquidity, and capital.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads and owns the ongoing development, maintenance, and upgrades of a comprehensive modeling framework to measure, analyze, and monitor interest rate risk, liquidity risk, and capital stress testing.
  • Responsible for developing process and procedure documentation for the functional area to meet regulatory and compliance requirements and ensuring appropriate controls and reconciliations are created to mitigate risks.
  • Leads and grows a team of associates through ongoing development, retention, coaching, support, and performance management.
  • Designs queries and manipulates large volumes of data to create reporting to identify and interpret business trends.
  • Participates in effective challenge over the model's conceptual soundness, assumptions, and appropriateness of model methodology.
  • Maintains financial models and model methodology documentation for auditing and validation.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities for efficiencies and improvements to processes and controls.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Economics, or a related field is required; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • 5 or more years of experience related to asset/liability management, interest rate risk management, liquidity risk management, capital stress testing, or related discipline in the financial services industry; OR Advanced Degree in Finance, Statistics, Data Science, Economics, or other related discipline may be substituted for 2 years of experience.
  • 3 or more years of direct team lead or management experience required.
  • Must have excellent presentation skills and experience presenting to senior management and Board level committees.
  • Must have demonstrated leadership and change management skills.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across lines of business and staff areas.
  • Must have knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements that may include OCC, FDIC, Basel III, and the Federal Reserve's regulations.
  • Must have the ability to adapt to quickly to evolving business and regulatory environment and flexibility to prioritize changing demands is necessary.
  • Must have keen ability to compute, analyze, and compare data.
  • Must be able to assist management with complex projects with extreme accuracy and minimal supervision.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communications skills.
