Software Asset Manager

Addison Group is partnering with an IT Solutions Company to find a skilled Software Asset Manager. This role involves working with the company's software assets to ensure compliance and optimize their usage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular audits to ensure software entitlements are up-to-date and compliant with all software publishers.
  • Minimize organizational spend by standardizing software products and optimizing efficiencies through license tracking and harvesting.
  • Assist with negotiating software vendor contracts and license maintenance renewals, ensuring a deep understanding of publisher terms of use.
  • Utilize SAM tools to effectively track software usage and compliance.
  • Process software license requests through ServiceNow and recommend the best sourcing method, issue purchase orders to vendors, and monitor vendor response times.
  • Maintain the software asset database for approved applications and assist with catalog updates.
  • Experience managing on-prem and cloud licenses for vendors such as Microsoft and Adobe.
  • Familiarity with vendor portals including Microsoft VLSC, Azure EA, Adobe, IBM, and Oracle.
  • Employ a continuous improvement approach to identify potential process enhancements in the software license lifecycle.
  • Assist with quarterly harvesting of licenses and special projects as needed.

Requirements:

  • 5 years of experience in a Software Asset Analyst role.
  • Solid knowledge of software licensing and maintenance agreements.
  • Experience working with a SAM tool.
  • Proficient in ServiceNow and MS Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of IT Service Management processes.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Self-motivated with a high attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
